Role Overview
As a Credit Expert / Mortgage Underwriter, you will manage mortgage approvals by analyzing applications and providing recommendations to the management team. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent English communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Loan Review: Collect, verify, and complete all required documentation for mortgage applications.
- Risk Assessment: Apply underwriting guidelines, validate property appraisals, and prepare recommendations on financial returns.
- Communication: Work closely with loan officers and stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and clearly communicate decisions.
- Compliance: Ensure all applications meet company policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English (verbal and written). TOEFL or IELTS is an asset.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Finance, Banking, or Business Administration.
- Education or work experience in North America or the EU is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat DC.
- Ability to learn and use company software (Mortgage Automator).
