Job Description:
We are a leading firm specialising in the development of sophisticated trading algorithms and Expert Advisors (EAs) for the Forex market. Laplace Digital is looking for a highly skilled and motivated C++ and C# Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in writing, optimising, and debugging MQL4 code, and a deep understanding of trading strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Algorithm Development: Design, develop, and implement trading algorithms and Expert Advisors (EAs) in MQL4. Translate complex trading strategies into efficient, well-structured code.
- Optimisation: Optimise existing EAs for performance, ensuring they operate efficiently under various market conditions. Fine-tune algorithms to enhance profitability and minimise risk.
- Debugging and Error Resolution: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in existing MQL4 code. Ensure that all EAs are robust, reliable, and free of bugs.
- Backtesting and Validation: Perform extensive backtesting and forward testing of algorithms to validate their performance. Use historical data to simulate trading scenarios and optimise strategies accordingly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the strategy development team to understand requirements and translate them into effective MQL4 code. Participate in regular code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of all code, algorithms, and processes to ensure easy maintenance and knowledge transfer.
- Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in MQL4 programming, trading strategies, and financial markets to ensure our solutions are cutting-edge.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in MQL4 programming, with a proven track record of developing and optimising trading algorithms.
- Strong understanding of Forex trading, market dynamics, and trading strategies.
- Experience with backtesting, optimising, and validating trading strategies in MetaTrader 4.
- Proficiency in debugging and resolving issues in complex codebases.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices.
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other trading platforms or programming languages (e.g., MQL5, Python) is a plus.
- Knowledge of automated trading systems and high-frequency trading strategies.
- Familiarity with financial data analysis and statistical modelling.
