Our clinic in Tbilisi is currently expanding its IVF laboratory and building a strong embryology team. We are looking for a motivated specialist who would like to start or develop a career in embryology and reproductive medicine.
This role provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced embryologists, gain practical laboratory experience, and grow into an Embryologist position in the future.

Position Overview
The Embryology Laboratory Assistant supports the daily operations of the IVF laboratory, assists embryologists during procedures, and ensures proper documentation and handling of biological samples.
This role is ideal for biology graduates or young specialists who are interested in reproductive medicine and want to gain hands-on experience in IVF laboratory work.
Training and mentoring from experienced embryologists will be provided.


Key Responsibilities

• Laboratory Preparation
• Prepare and organize the laboratory workspace before procedures.
• Prepare laboratory solutions, culture media, and culture dishes.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is properly prepared and functioning.
• Biological Sample Handling
• Receive and register biological samples from patients.
• Monitor the suitability of samples for laboratory procedures.
• Assist with the collection, processing, and storage of biological samples including sperm, oocytes, and embryos.
• Laboratory Procedures
• Perform basic laboratory tests such as semen analysis and initial biological assessments.
• Assist embryologists during IVF laboratory procedures.
• Participate in early embryology laboratory processes depending on training and experience.
• Documentation & Data Management
• Maintain laboratory documentation and reporting in accordance with Georgian regulations.
• Record and track patient biological material in internal databases.
• Maintain laboratory test and procedure records.
• Laboratory Operations
• Monitor laboratory conditions including temperature, CO₂ levels, and pH.
• Track laboratory consumables and supplies.
• Monitor laboratory equipment including incubators, Dewar vessels, and air filtration systems.
• Laboratory Safety & Compliance
• Ensure proper sterilization and disposal of biological materials according to safety regulations.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, sterility of equipment, and proper storage of reagents.
• Follow safety protocols, quality standards, and regulations for working with human biological materials.

Requirements

• Education
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Medicine, or a related field.
• Additional courses in reproductive medicine or embryology are considered an advantage.

Experience

• Previous laboratory experience is preferred.
• Experience in reproductive medicine or IVF laboratories is a strong plus.
• Candidates without experience but with strong motivation to learn are welcome.

• Ability to work with laboratory equipment and biological samples.
• Basic understanding of cell culture and laboratory procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a highly controlled laboratory environment.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.

• Languages
• Georgian – required
• English – an advantage
• Russian or Ukrainian – considered a plus
