CargoPolo is looking for an experienced Ocean Booking Manager to join our growing international logistics team.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong experience in ocean freight operations who can confidently manage the full booking process, coordinate with shipping lines and terminals, and ensure that every shipment moves according to schedule.
As an Ocean Booking Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating our international ocean freight operations, managing bookings from placement through departure, monitoring critical deadlines, and maintaining effective communication between shipping lines, terminals, agents, and internal teams.

As an Ocean Booking Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating our international ocean freight operations, managing bookings from placement through departure, monitoring critical deadlines, and maintaining effective communication between shipping lines, terminals, agents, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full booking process with shipping lines, from booking placement through confirmation and departure;
- Hands-on experience preparing and submitting Shipping Instructions (SI), reviewing and verifying draft Bills of Lading (B/L), VGM submissions, cargo/vehicle manifests, container and seal details, and other ocean freight documentation;
- Monitor booking confirmations, cut-off times, documentation deadlines, and other critical operational milestones;
- Track vessel schedules, departures, and schedule changes;
- Prepare and submit Shipping Instructions (SI) and carefully verify Bill of Lading (B/L) details;
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate booking and shipment documentation;
- Monitor container movements and ensure compliance with key operational deadlines;
- Maintain daily communication with shipping lines, terminals, agents, and internal departments;
- Ensure all booking and shipment information is accurately and promptly updated in the company system;
- Proactively identify potential delays, schedule changes, documentation issues, and other operational risks;
- Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve issues quickly and minimize disruptions to the shipping process;
- Maintain clear and organized records of ongoing and completed bookings.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in ocean freight, shipping line operations, freight forwarding, or booking management;
- Advanced English proficiency (C1) — strong written and verbal communication skills are essential;
- Solid understanding of ocean freight booking processes, shipping documentation, vessel schedules, and operational deadlines;
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business software;
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills;
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy;
- Ability to manage multiple bookings, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously;
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership;
- Ability to work independently, make operational decisions, and resolve issues efficiently;
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
