We are is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics & Container Control Specialist to join our team in Akkon Georgia. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between terminal operations, fleet management, and haulage coordination to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability for the Line.
The Role
  • The successful candidate will manage the full lifecycle of container movements and inland logistics. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Equipment Control: Monitor daily container movements across the terminals and depots ensuring accurate data entry and tracking of leasing units.
  • Vessel & Terminal Operations: Prepare discharge manifests and booking prospects; coordinate empty container planning and load/discharge sequences via SAP B1.
  • Maintenance & Repair : Oversee container inspections, verify equipment grading and manage repair approvals with HQ.
  • Haulage & Transport Management: Negotiate rates with trucking companies, organize carrier haulages to maximize profit, and manage the end-to-end communication between customers and haulers.
  • Financial Oversight: Audit terminal and haulage invoices, resolve billing discrepancies, and maintain updated transport price lists. Responsible for the accurate, timely, and efficient management of all demurrage-related processes, including invoicing, monitoring outstanding amounts, applying payments, coordinating with finance, and ensuring customers settle dues within agreed timelines.
The Profile
  • We are looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the following qualifications:
  • University degree in Logistics, International Trade, Maritime Business, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience within the shipping line, freight forwarding, or port logistics sector.
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is essential for coordination with HQ.
  • Strong command of SAP B1 and advanced Excel skills for data management and reporting.
  • A deep understanding of the local container market, haulage dynamics, and terminal operations.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, high attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet vessel deadlines.
