We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Vessel Operations Agent to join our operations team to be based in our office in Poti, Georgia
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Report the operational status of vessels on a daily basis to the Line Operations department.
- Provide instant coordination and support to the Line Operations department for any vessel or cargo requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication between Terminal Operations, Planning departments, and the Line Operations team.
- Arrange and manage the transfer of operational files between the Line Operations and Terminal Planning departments.
- Report operational problems, damages to cargo, or vessel structures immediately to the relevant departments.
- Coordinate berthing and unberthing operations efficiently, providing accurate date and time updates to the Line Operations department.
- Provide assistance and support for operational matters to the Line Operations team as required.
- Monitor container terminal productivity and propose solutions or improvements in collaboration with the Line Operations department.
- Follow and implement instructions from the Line Operations department to ensure seamless vessel operations.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field. Proven experience in vessel operations, port agency, or container terminal logistics is highly preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong ability to multitask, work under pressure, and think on your feet to resolve operational problems
- Flexibility to adapt to the 24/7 nature of shipping operations, including responding to urgent operational matters when required.
