JOB DESCRIPTION

Title:                Manager, Global Infrastructure Support

Department:   Information and Communication Technology

Team:              Global Infrastructure Support Team

Reports To:      Director, Global Technology Operations

 

ROLE PURPOSE

The Global Infrastructure Support Team is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of corporate technology infrastructure, systems and applications, shared across a worldwide network of FINCA Subsidiaries.  The team provides advanced level subject matter expertise in delivery and support of global technology services, as well as regional and country specific IT projects and initiatives.

 

Reporting to the Director, Global Technology Operations, the Manager, Global Infrastructure Support in support of FINCA global operation, manages delivery of core IT Infrastructure and leads the Global Infrastructure Support Team, providing day-to-day management, coaching and support to enable availability, efficiency and high quality services to FINCA’s corporate technology infrastructure and core IT services. FINCA’s technology infrastructure includes the Data Center, Active Directory (AD), physical and virtual servers, and all network components. Under the Manager’s leadership, the team optimize service delivery and minimize disruption and downtime by ensuring all IT systems are working properly.  

 

The Manager, Global Infrastructure Support  will provide the team with strategic, operational and managerial expertise, ensuring continuous service delivery to all stakeholders while working in a fast paced environment for a global organization.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Team Management
  • Manage Global Infrastructure Support Team’s work schedules, efficiency, hiring, training, coaching, creating operating plans, and evaluating staff performance
  • Effectively prioritize team resources and activities, and segregate responsibility of subject domains  among team members.
  • Plan, track and administer the spending of budget associated with team and area of responsibility

 

Service & Support

  • Oversees that incidents, service requests and changes are processed according to SLA.
  • Plan and coordinate infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, patching and other activities.
  • Monitor transparency of services and business process, manage execution process and mitigate risk
  • Provide operational reports needed by stakeholders
  • Verify that adequate IT Security coverage is maintained in all areas under the Global IT Infrastructure and it complies with the relevant security policies.
  • Responsible for testing reliability of backup/recovery procedures
  • Manage projects assigned to global infrastructure support team ensuring they are delivered with the time, quality and budget provided.  
  • Provide specifications and standards in procurement of IT hardware, software, and services
  • Monitor performance and quality of IT assets and services purchased from external suppliers and escalate if any issues are observed.
  • Monitor and measure global infrastructure support teams processes, optimize business processes and document standard guidelines and solutions.
  • Participate in discussions related to architecture, design and planning of core IT Infrastructure
  • Provide expert level technical and administrative support to the global, regional and subsidiary IT teams when needed

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Computer Science degree, IT, Engineering or related fields;
  • Possession of a relevant postgraduate degree and professional certificates such as MCSE, MCSD, CCNA, CISCO preferred

 

Experience

  • Minimum (5-10) years' experience in a professional IT environment, at least two (2) of which should have been in the role of IT Technical lead in a large IT environment
  • Experience managing and leading high performing teams in an international support capacity preferred.
  • Experience in implementation and support of IT systems and Technology Risk Management
  • Experience in configuration and maintenance of VMware and/or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with the specific operating systems, applications, database applications.
  • Operational experience in administration of windows server 2008/2012/2016 Active directory
  • Advance expertise of server hardware and storage infrastructure.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven track record and strong Project Management experience and skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong innovative and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of ITSM (ITIL); cloud services – AWS, Azure, etc
  • In depth practical knowledge of networking administration, LAN/WAN/Firewalls.
  • In depth practical knowledge of operating system administration, LAN/WAN infrastructure to ensure connectivity
  • Excellent knowledge of information systems policies
  • Availability to work different schedules, to ensure service continuation.

 

Language Skills

  • Fluency in Georgian and English required.
  • Fluency in Russian preferred.

 

Travel requirements

  • Availability to travel up to 10% of the time
