Batumi International Container Terminal is looking for Purchasing Officer

Experience: At least 3 years in purchasing and supply chain function

Location: Batumi

General Requirements:

Sourcing local and foreign suppliers for spare parts/materials/supplies/services and negotiating on best prices, credit terms and delivery. Issuance of Purchase Orders and ensures prompt delivery of orders. Prepares reports on purchasing related matters and keeps up to date all procedures and policies related to purchasing.

Duties:

Sourcing local and foreign suppliers for spare parts/materials/supplies and services.
Regularly obtains updated price quotations from local and foreign suppliers.
Negotiates with local and foreign suppliers for best prices, credit terms, and delivery of ordered items.
Issues Purchase Orders (POs) based on approved Purchase Requisitions (PRs) through SAP.
Prepares contracts for purchases and services.
Updates vendor master list in SAP.
Monitors pending PRs.
Monitors pending POs and follows up approval of POs.
Follows up with suppliers regarding delivery of orders and services. Ensures that deliveries are on time and in accordance with the PO.
Insures proper documentation (tax invoice, etc.) for all purchases. Provides the Finance Department with copies of POs as supporting documents for suppliers’ invoices.
Prepares reports on variances between POs and Suppliers’ invoices.
Coordinates with Finance Department on pending purchasing related matters.
Accredits suppliers and evaluates their performance on an annual basis.
Conducts bidding processes on purchases and services.
Conduct auctions and/or tenders up to need.
Updates purchasing policies and processes in accordance with corporate and global policies and procedures.
Other duties assigned from time to time, instructed and/or conditioned by global procurement requests and instructions or local management.
