Native English Language Book Club Teacher

Job Description | Native English language Book Club Teacher

You'll use a range of books and materials, plus a variety of audio-visual aids, to encourage students/pupils to communicate with each other using the structures and vocabulary they've learnt/read and to improve the four basic language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. A strong emphasis is placed on dialogue and role-playing, but more formal exercises language games and literature are also used.

Responsible to: Director of Studies and Head of Administration

Liaising with: Relevant staff within Book Club, CPD team, Sales Team and Marketing Team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• plan, prepare and deliver book club sessions on different titles to a range of groups and age groups;
• prepare and set presentations;
• mark and provide appropriate feedback on presentations and discussions during and after the book club session.
• Create, write and find new materials if necessary.
• Be in the office during the office hours and work on future presentations, adaptations.
• Attend book club meetings and work on class projects related to your job description. 
• Develop lesson plans conforming to set syllabus;
• Update and maintain accurate record keeping for daily attendance and student performance;
• Test and evaluate students’ performance;
• Use new and improved teaching methods in order to make the lessons interesting;
• Prepare everyday reports about students performance, teaching methods’ effectiveness, book club sessions.

Qualifications and experience:

• University degree in relevant field.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience.

• To link with internal departments as appropriate.
